AIA/ALA Library Building Awards

This is a biennial program that will be awarded in 2009 with a submission deadline to be determined.

To encourage excellence in the architectural design and planning of libraries, the AIA and the American Library Association/Library Administration and Management Association created this award to distinguish accomplishments in library architecture.

Submissions

The submission deadline is January 4, 2009. All payments will be made online and a link to the submission site will be posted once it is activated.  Please check back for details or contact the Honors & Awards department at honorsawards@aia.org.

Eligibility

All entries shall be library building projects designed by architects licensed in the United States. The libraries may be built anywhere in the world and the program is open to all types of libraries that permit public access and that have been completed since December 1, 2000.
