Haley Gipe, Assoc. AIA | Notes of Interest

Like many other architectural interns, Haley’s passion for architecture started at an early age. An affinity for drawing, cutting, and pasting floor plans together when she was a child, and a love for art and design naturally led to studying architecture in college. After six years at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), Haley obtained a NAAB accredited Bachelors in Architecture, along with three Minors in Environmental Design, Art and Design, and Sustainable Environments. She enjoyed her educational endeavors and has always had a passion for learning.

Haley’s passion for licensure education and outreach has become a huge part of her identity. Early on in her career, she took a particular interest in the dwindling numbers of architecture students and graduates pursuing licensure in California and nationwide. Locally, Haley has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, contributing time and graphic design work to their Women’s Build day. She has also volunteered with the local Grid Alternatives organization to install solar PV systems on Habitat homes. Additionally, Haley has helped to found a non-profit organization, the ‘SloArch Foundation’, dedicated to connecting Cal Poly Architecture alumni, students, faculty, and supporters.

Haley has pursued her passion for the profession in a local, statewide and national capacity. Her interest in licensure has made her an informed resource in California, and her enthusiasm for multi-disciplinary collaboration has proven invaluable to her local community. She looks forward to continuing her outreach efforts and further expanding her involvement with licensure topics both statewide and nationally.
