AIA Conference on Architecture & Design 2024 Will Bring Together Thousands of AEC Professionals
AIA will host the premier event for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry in Washington, D.C. June 5-8.
WASHINGTON – May 29, 2024 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) will welcome more than 10,000 to Washington, D.C. for the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design 2024 (AIA24) taking place at the Walter. E Washington Convention Center June 5-8, 2024. The event will convene professionals across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry to network, share knowledge, and find solutions to design a better world.
"This year we’re looking forward to welcoming attendees to D.C., home to AIA’s new global campus, several AIA chapters, and some of the most influential architecture, design firms and manufacturers in the world,” AIA EVP and CEO Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE. "Our 2024 conference is a beacon for innovation and will showcase the commitment of the AEC industry to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time.”
As part of AIA's ongoing commitment to driving progress within the industry, the conference will offer networking, education, events, tours, and the industry’s largest expo to foster cross-industry collaboration. The conference will cover topics such as net zero energy, adaptive reuse for changing downtowns, AI in the industry and healthy buildings for healthy communities.
Three keynotes will headline the conference:
• June 6, Build the Life You Want with #1 New York Times bestselling author and happiness expert Arthur C. Brooks
• June 7, Designing for Health & Safety with CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta
• June 8, Storytelling & Representation with Academy Award winning designer Ruth Carter
On Friday June 7, AIA will host the AIA Awards Gala to announce the highly anticipated project-based award winners for 2024. For the first time, AIA will celebrate all award winners, including new AIA Fellows at one inclusive event.
