The AIA Twenty-five Year Award is awarded to a building that has set an architectural design standard of excellence for 25–35 years.
Celebrating a standard of excellence
The Twenty-five Year Award showcases buildings that set a precedent. The award is conferred on a building that has stood the test of time for 25-35 years and continues to set standards of excellence for its architectural design and significance.
Entrants
- AIA chapters, Knowledge Communities, and members may submit nominations.
Projects
- Must have been completed between 1990 and 2000.
- Must have been designed by a U.S.-licensed architect at the time of the project’s completion.
- Must be in a substantially completed form, in good condition, and not fundamentally altered from its original intent.

Entries must demonstrate excellence in function, both in their original form and by today’s standards.
The jury will examine the building and site and will take into consideration any alteration to the immediate context.
There is no entry fee for this program.
