From securing fair contracts and tax policies to promoting federal investment in housing, infrastructure, resiliency and sustainability, we work with lawmakers to advance legislation that drives economic growth, creates opportunities for architects and supports architecture firms of all sizes. Spring Into Action Campaign

Architecture is about stability, innovation, and resilience.

But right now, uncertainty in government policies and funding decisions is threatening the profession, our firms, and the communities we serve. Architects cannot afford to wait and watch. Now is the time to Spring Into Action. 

Throughout spring, AIA members will engage with legislators at the federal, state, and local levels to advocate for policies that protect and promote architectural businesses, design excellence, sustainable and resilient communities, and access to housing. ‎

How we prioritize our policy issues

AIA’s federal priorities are developed by our Government Advocacy Committee and the Federal Affairs team with the input of members throughout the Institute. We focus on the business of architecture as well as our values. We work to ensure that architects have a seat at the table when decisions concerning the built environment are being discussed. Our work is to advance and defend. Advance policies that have a positive impact on architects and defend against federal actions that would hurt architects. While we must address long-term issues we care about, we place emphasis on issues that are under current consideration by Congress and the Administration. We look to our members to tell their stories and to our strategic partners to drive home the AIA message in the Nation’s capital.
